Carnival of Venice


The Carnival of Venice is an annual festival celebrated in Venice, Italy.


The most important feature of the carnival is its elaborated masks.


It started in the 15th century, when the streets of Venice were full of people in masks, and making no differentiation between nobility and the common people.


Devil's Pool on the edge of Victioria Falls


Devil's Pool is located on the edge of Victoria Falls in Zambia. The natural pool is 128 meters high.


Victoria Falls is one of the most beautiful world's natural wonders and the place which offers the most spectacular sights in Africa.


The currents are not dangerous, allowing people to swim in the pool.

Jellyfish lake in Palau


The Jellyfish or Fifth lake is located in Palau and it has millions of jellyfish.


The lake is especially dominated by two species; the Golden and the Moon jellyfish. They are non toxic what makes possible for swimmers to get into the lake.


 The lake is a marine lake located in one of the beautiful Rock Islands, in the south of Palau.


Holi Festival of India


The Holi Festival, also known as the festival of colours or the festival of love, is a spring festival celebrated in India at the end of February and early March.


The festival starts with the lighting up of bonfire and it celebrates the triumph of "good"over "bad". 




The festival is also celebrated with flowers.


Pink Lakes


Lake Retba, known as Lac Rose (Pink Lake), is located in the north of Senegal, 25 km from Dakar. 


The lake has high levels of salt, which allows people to float like the Dead Sea.


The pink color is due to the Dunaliella salina algae that produces a red pigment, turning the water into pink.


In the western of Australia there is another beautiful salt pink lake, the Esperance lake.

Swimming Pigs in the Bahamas


Pig beach or Pig island is a cay located in Exuma (one of the 360 islands of the Bahamas). The cay is totally uninhabited by people, but populated by these bizarre pigs.


The pigs were left in the island by sailors with the purpose of returning back and cooking the, but they never came back.


The island has 20 pigs and piglets, but also several cats and goats.

The Crabs of Christmas Island


Christmas Islands, located in the Indian Ocean, are well-known by its annual crab migration. They migrate from the forest to the sea, where they will leave their eggs.


Government and citizens of the islands play an important role to help the crabs during their migration. 


43,7 million of crabs live in the island.

The festival of Phuket is a Chinese tradition that takes place during five days every October. It is based on the belief that stopping eating meat during the 9th lunar month will clean their bodies, physically and mentally.


The festival is celebrated in different kind of ways, like firewalking. 


But undoubtly, the most spectacular ceremony is the body piercing act; men and women puncture their cheeks with all type of objects, believing that God will protect them from harm.

The Goats in trees of Morocco


Goats are well-known by their climbing abilities in mountains, but they are also known in Morocco by their abilities when climbing Argan trees.


Goats climb the trees to look for food due to the scarcity of food in the dry region. 


Furthermore, the droppings of the goats are used by locals to make oil by pressing and grinding it. This oil is used for food and for cosmetics.

Analavory Geyser in Ampefy, Madagascar


Analavory is a cold geyser, as there is no volcanic activity underground, located in the middle of the island of Madagascar. 


The color of the geyser is caused by large amounts of iron and lime that are dissolved by the water when it gets contact with the outside.


The water can reach 20 cm up to 3 meters above the ground and it emerges as carbonated water, giving the same appearence as champagne or soda. 

Giraffe Women of northern Thailand


The Kayans, also known as the Giraffe Women because of their long necks, are a tribe originated from Burma but emmigrated to northern Thailand in the late 1980s.


Although the neck rings are nowadays a symbol of beauty and cultural identity, it started as a way of protection from slavery by making women less attractive.


Girls start to wear the rings at the age of five.

The Snow Monkeys of Jigokudani



As temperature decreases to -15 degrees during the winter, Snow Monkeys of Jigokudani needs a place to warm up before getting back to the woods. This hot spring located in the west of Japan is the best place in the surroundings to do it as the temperature of water is around 38 degrees.


Snow Monkeys are relaxed and peaceful, government warns not to take a bath because of hygiene and health reasons.


The combination of landscape, the hot spring and these special Japenese macaques makes the area an unique place in the world.
